Lauren, tell us your story…

TELL US YOUR LOVE STORY!

Garrett and I met at one of my very first nights at college. We went on our first date about a week after meeting and have been in love ever since!

TELL US YOUR ENGAGEMENT STORY!

Garrett and I had been dating for 3 years before he proposed. I had always talked about us wanting to get professional pictures taken of us to hang in our house. For our 3-year anniversary gift, Garrett got us a session with a photographer he knew I loved in my hometown, Louisville. On September 30, 2018 we went to have our pictures taken and the photographer had Garrett get behind me and told me he was going to run up behind me and pick me up for a candid picture. After about 20 seconds of waiting for him to do so, I turned around and he was down on one knee and asked me to be his wife. It was the best moment of my life and it was all captured on camera! After the rest of the now turned engagement session, he made me give him my phone so that I wouldn’t find out the rest of his plan. He didn’t tell me where we were going, but when we got to my mom’s neighborhood I knew something was up. We walked into the clubhouse of her neighborhood and all of our friends and family were there to celebrate! He even made sure that my grandma, who lives in Florida, was in town to celebrate with us.

Lauren, tell us about planning your wedding…

What are three words you would use to describe the style of your wedding day? How would you describe the feel?

Timeless, romantic, and classic. I wanted the feel to be very elegant and southern!

Where did you gather inspiration from for your wedding day?

I always had a vision in my head of how I wanted my wedding to look. Growing up my mom and I spent hours looking at wedding photos because we loved it so much. I spent lots of time on Warrenwood’s social media pages looking at past weddings and more hours than I can even begin to count on Pinterest looking at pictures.

Why did you choose to have your wedding at Warrenwood Manor?

After looking online at venues and having no luck finding what I wanted in my hometown, I stumbled upon Warrenwood. I immediately sent it to my parents telling them I had found my dream venue! We scheduled a tour the following week and we all fell in love the second we got there. It was everything I had ever dreamed of and more!

What were you most excited about on your wedding day?

Having all of our friends and family all together to celebrate with us!

In what ways did you personalize your wedding day?

The biggest way we personalized our wedding day was having our then 6-month-old son involved in it! My husband held him as I walked down the aisle and we danced to “Boy” by Lee Brice with him. I never imagined having a child when I got married, but I wouldn’t have had it any other way. It was so special having him with us and a memory we will cherish forever.

What was the funniest thing that happened on your wedding day?

Garrett ripped his tux pants about 30 minutes into the reception all the way from his butt to his leg from dancing so hard!!! He had to change into shorts and a Hawaiian shirt and tennis shoes for the rest of the reception because it was all he had! We will laugh about it forever.

What advice would you give to a newly engaged couple starting the wedding planning process?

Enjoy it! As stressful as it can be, everything will work out exactly how it is supposed to and it will be perfect to you!
